Today’s shop lore comes courtesy of a scam call.
The phone rang, and sure enough it was one of those “helpful” voices asking if I was the business owner. She wanted to make sure my Google account wasn’t suspended — because apparently “many have been in the recent months.”
I let her run her script, then said I had a question. She perked up: “Sure, what is it?”
My question: “What are you wearing?”
Click. Silence. End of call.
And me? I laughed and laughed.
My goal: hopefully they will brand me as a pervert and remove my number.
Sometimes the best way to deal with a scam is to cut through the nonsense with humor. Measure once, laugh twice.
